As of October 15, 2024, the hybrid Mazda CX-50 is currently in-transit to our lot and will be available for purchase!

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Mazda Hybrid powertrain has integrated the Toyota Hybrid System (THS). This powertrain, used in the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, powers the new Mazda CX-50 Hybrid. This setup, featuring a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with three electric motors, delivers a combined 219 horsepower. 

Every Mazda CX-50 Hybrid model comes standard with all-wheel drive and a Electronically-controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT), offering drivers the benefits of a Continuously Variable Transmissions without the common reliability issues found in CVTs.

This setup is good for 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque on regular 87-octane fuel. The Hybrid Mazda CX-50 has an EPA estimated 38 MPG combined, which is about 40% improved compared to CX-50 2.5 S, this offers customers approximately $575 in fuel savings per year versus Mazda CX-50 2.5 S*
