No matter what you drive or where you drive it, safety should be your number one concern when you’re behind the wheel. Driving a vehicle is inherently dangerous, but if done right and with modern technology, it can almost always be done safely. The Mazda6 is one of the premier family sedans available today, so what does it include to help keep everyone safe and secure? Find out below.

What safety features are on the 2019 Mazda6?

Lane departure warning and lane-keep assist

These features are especially helpful on the highway. Lane departure warning is a system that notifies you when it detects that you are drifting too much. Lane-keep assist works with this system and can automatically adjust your steering to keep you in the right spot. Both features are standard on all trims.

Radar technology has made it possible for our vehicles to watch the road ahead. Smart brake support with collision warning gives you an extra set of eyes. This system monitors the road and will alert you if a potential collision is detected. If necessary, the brakes will be applied automatically. This can help you to avoid a crash altogether or at least mitigate the damage of one that does occur. These features are also standard on all models.

Adaptive front lighting

This system is a bit of a modern marvel. Adaptive front lighting is a Mazda-specific feature that includes pivoting headlights. When going around a dark turn at night, this system will rotate your headlights up to 15 degrees. That may seem trivial, but it makes a huge difference and greatly increases your visibility. Adaptive front lighting comes standard on the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trims.

Other safety features on the 2019 Mazda6 include blind spot monitoring, radar cruise control, high beam control, pedestrian detection, and rear cross-traffic alert.
